Okay...

So, apparently someone out there thinks this about my new job,

"I don't really think being a camp director is THAT big of a deal. It seems like that job is meant for young people." comment posted conveniently by "anonymous"

I guess my excitement pissed you off or something. Well, I'm still excited and it is THAT big of a deal to me. Does this make me naive? I guess so in some people's opinions. If we can't get excited about the little things in life, the little steps that we hope take us closer to our goals, than what can we get excited about? Do I have to wait for my first 6 figure pay check or something?
Erica, thank you for your kind and uplifting comment. I guess you understand why I'm excited. And I am still excited, thank you very much, and trying not to absorb the negativity in that comment.

One can be excited about a job and simultaneously acknowledge that being a camp director is not a "'five years of experience,' type resume builder that will finally give us some credibility in the adult world."

Well I'm quite excited for you Nat. I think this sounds like an amazing position. I take it anonymous doesn't know you that well because infact, the camp director positions you and Jason are beginning ARE resume builders, especially for the areas you plan to focus your energies the rest of your life.

And don't take too seriously someone who can't even post his/her name.

Love to you!

I'd take working at a camp over being in this resume-building-money-grubbing-ladder-climbing city, any day. I dream of not washing, wearing shorts and climbing through muddy mountain paths. Seriously. I do.

Besides, it's not about building a RESUME you are proud of, it's investing in kids who will grow to be PEOPLE society is proud of.

What is 'adult world' credibility, anyway, other than just an ego boost? I think this person is having his/her own life-decision problems - maybe they need a little spell of camp life? Love you, Nat.

Hi Natalie!

Wow, tuff crowd here! I haven't read your blog 4 a while. These people muss think the only way 2 be successful is 2 like right for an entertainment magazine, or graduate from Harvard, or create a beautiful garden in your backyard, or pray for 24 hours strait, or be the head of the HRC, or live in Ougadoudou, or be a diplomat, or run a marathon!

Dang girl! Be proud of what you got going 4 U! You are so talented so keep allowing God to work inside of you and develop your talents and strengths! Keep doing it for the Lord (I don't mean like 'doing it' with your husband, but like working for Him)!!! Hang your head up high and don't let the negativity of those around you bring you down becuz you can do all things that strengthen you if you keep your eyes on Him! May the Holy Spirit continue to work in your life, may the gifts of the Spirit be showered upon you, and may you be a light that shines bright to all those around you and the children you serve in Colorado! I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way (Aretha Franklin).

To "thought and humor", thanks for the comment, I think.

To "Jackson", thanks for the encouragement! I don't recognize your name but you sound like you know me...who are you?
